When I was a kid I would look in the mirror at my smile and practice. I got good at putting on a fake smile when my heart was heavy. One thing I started to see was that my eyes showed that sorrow. I looked at others and could see that same sorrow and pain even though they had a smile on their faces. Life can be brutal. But if I have come to know anything about that pain it is that the story isn’t over yet. There are still words to be spoken, magic to be created, and stories to live.
What I Do
I focus on writing and speaking. I write to help us get a better understanding of who we and others are. Between sermons, life lessons, and my fiction work, I dive into the heart of my work and write what I see because I know there are so many stories to live.
I plan to advance this into Audio Dramas and more as I go on, But as of right now expect to see more written work.
As this grows I hope you join me. Besides my work here I post on YouTube and I stream on Twitch. If you don’t catch me live on Twitch I will post the full length videos on this YouTube VOD channel.
My Faith
I believe in Jesus, I struggle with the church, and I believe that the god of the Bible is the one true god.
Jesus of Nazareth was a man who lived in the first century in Israel. I believe that he is the son of god and not just any god. But the god written about in the Bible both old and new testaments. I believe that Jesus preformed miracles on this earth and died on a cross for our sins. Not just for the afterlife. Jesus died for us for today.
A lot of christians think about how when Jesus died for our sins so we could spend eternity with him. For me I think it is so much more than that. I believe that, yes Jesus died for us to go to heaven, but he also died so that we could bring slices of heaven down here on earth.
I believe that we, as christians, are supposed to do what we can to heal this broken world. The problem is, christians are human, are imperfect, we mess up, and we are all still learning what we need to do and how to do it.
Then stupid religion gets involved. We end up shunning people because they don’t dress the same way as us, or they don’t speak the same way as us. Christians are plagued with religion and it can cause more hurt than healing if we aren’t careful.
I know a lot of churches are trying to be better, just like we are, but I hate useless tradition. Pushing people away who want to be involved because they don’t look the part. I love Jesus and I want to help the church be more like him.
